Rio Seco Waterfall Hike

Rio Seco (Salybia Waterfall) Waterfall is the largest natural river pool in Trinidad and Tobago and also the deepest. The height from the top of the waterfall to the pool is roughly 15-20feet.
The most stunning waterfall is at Rio Seco. The falls located just after the village of Matura and opposite to the famous Salybia Beach.
Our trek begins on an undulating bench trail crossing various streams as we make our way through the forest. To the end of the trail, we come upon a hill or so it is called. We head up and then down the hill to the magnificent emerald waters. This falls is rated as the number one on the twin island. It’s water makes this hike one that all hikers can enjoy. But for all dare devils you can scale the walls of the falls and take a leap off if you dare. So come to Rio Seco and enjoy the emerald treasure of Trinidad.

In order to confirm with us, please provide the names and contact information of each person in your group. Additionally, please indicate how many adults and children will be attending. Where children are part of your group, please indicate their ages.

EVENT GUIDELINES:
-Persons are asked to walk with towels, a change of clothing and shoes which will be left at the parked vehicles/maxi, as your clothing and shoes will get dirty/wet journeying to and from the waterfall.
-Proper footwear (sneakers) is required (absolutely no slippers or sandals).
-Long sleeves, caps, long pants (preferably loose fitting track pants), insect repellent and sunscreen are advised for prevention against sunburn, insect bites as well as scrapes/bruises.
-Please walk with light refreshments (sandwiches etc) and sufficient bottled water in your backpack as well as any medication you may require.
-No littering, consumption of alcohol or smoking allowed.
– Please do not walk with any valuables (cash, jewellery).
-Please take precaution to protect phones and cameras from water (submersion or rainfall) with waterproof backpacks or cases.
-Please do not walk ahead of your front hike leader. If you find yourself alone on the trail at any time, please remain on the trail, a hike leader will always be at the end of the group.
